What are the hours of the Putnam Library?

• The Putnam Library is open M-Th 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. and Friday 7:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

How do I find a book?

• You can find a book by going to our catalog and searching in the search box.

Can I use the library databases from home?

• Yes.  The databases can be used from home.  You will need to log in once with your Nobles UNID and password.

How do I cite my sources?

Can I check out a Laptop? iPad? Calculator?

• Yes! We have a variety of electronics for students and staff to use.  Please see a complete list here.

How do I listen to an audiobook?

• If you would like to listen to an audiobook, you may use the app Sora to borrow the book on your own device. Please see here or reach out to a librarian for information about downloading and using Sora

How do I read an eBook?

• If you would like to read an ebook, you may use the app Sora to borrow the book on your own device. Please see here or reach out to a librarian for information about downloading and using Sora.

How do I request a book that is checked out or that the library does not have?

• To request a book click here (this will take you to the login page for our catalog) or email any librarian. If you would like the library to purchase a book we don’t have please email library@nobles.edu or stop by the library desk!

I need a video camera/digital camera, can you help?

• Yes, the library has a collection of cameras for student and faculty use.  Please see a librarian for assistance.

What textbooks do you have?  How do I use them?

• The library has a number of textbooks that you may use in the library.  You do not need to check them out; you can just take them right off of the textbook cart located next to the circulation desk.  Please return the textbooks to the cart once you are finished. If you would like to take a textbook out of the library for a short period of time, see a librarian. .If you do not see the textbook you are looking for on the cart, it may mean that someone else is using it. Please check back for it later.
  

What are those fancy books I’ve heard about?

• Those books are part of the Walter Tower Collection.  Please click here to find out more!

How many books or DVDs can I check out?

• There is no limit but please return whatever you check out promptly.

What happens if I lose a book or DVD?

• If you lose a book or DVD (or any type of library material) you will be charged for it, plus a five dollar processing fee.

Can I renew a book if I haven’t finished it?

• Yes.  If you would like to renew a book, please click here or stop by the library.  If another library user has requested the book you will not be able to renew it.  

Can I use the library printer/copier?  Can I print in color?

• Students and staff may use our copier and printer.  T If you need assistance downloading and setting up the printing software, PaperCut, to your computerr please as a librarian.  If you need to print in color please ask a librarian for assistance.  Click here for more information on printing.

Does the library have art supplies?

• Yes, we have tape, glue, scrap paper, markers, colored pencils, watercolor paint, crayons, rulers, a paper cutter, construction and card stock paper in many colors, and more. We also often have older magazines and newspapers that can be used for art projects and a Cricut for cutting out letters and other shapes.

Help! My phone is about to die!  What should I do?

• Luckily we have a charging station, located at the circulation desk!  It is equipped with Apple iPhone chargers. You may leave your phone or other Apple device there to charge.  We are not responsible for your phone while it charges.

I am a Nobles teacher, can you teach one of my classes?

Yes!  The librarians are happy to meet with teachers one on one to discuss any way we might assist you.  If you would like to bring your class here for a research lesson, please contact us.
